I'm first going to start with the positive because it was probably the best food I've had in the entire area. It took a little longer to get but was worth the wait. My only issue is that nearly $8 + coffee for a breakfast is a little much for bacon eggs and home fries and toast. I will reiterate however, that the food was excellent. They do not accept credit cards. Make sure you take cash.

Came for lunch around 1 PM. A lunch special of fish with mac and cheese and creamed cucumbers was advertised on the sidewalk chalkboard. The wait staff informed me that they were out of Mac and cheese and cucumbers. I guess you need to get there around 11 AM to ensure getting the special. Any how the bacon cheeseburger was great and the fresh cut French fries were top notch. A great place for breakfast also.

Awesome, friendly people. The food here is amazing and inexpensive. Better yet it is made with fresh potatoes and eggs and whatever else right in front of you. Coffee is good, and the iced sun tea is unbeatable. Just remember it is cash only.

I came into town following the railroad looking for photo opportunities and was looking for a late lunch. Someone recommended this place. I am gluten-free but still wanted a plain old hamburger. Lady suggested I have the burger on lettuce, fresh tomato and cheese. Burger was ground local grass fed beef. I had coffee with it. Best burger I have had in a restaurant in years. No joke bill was $4.19 with tax. Place opened just after ww2. Second and third generation currently running it. Asked why prices were so low. Γ’β¬ΕItΓ’β¬β’s so folks can afford to get out and eat well.Γ’β¬Β I live in Maine and I will plan to pass through he somehow soon.

A friend and I were stopped at the Big Savage Tunnel and 2 other cyclists told us about their delicious meal at G.I. Day Room. It sounded so good, we high tailed it to Meyersdale in record time, pedals spinning. We found the fresh cut fries and fresh (not frozen) cheeseburger to be out of this world. Can't wait to go back.Wondering if they're open on Sunday. Would be good to have their hours of operation posted.

Good food, if limited selection. Inexpensive! Service is excellent. Ambience is 60's. If you're not looking for fancy, recommended.

We met at 5:00 this morning for a time of Fellowship and discussion with members of our church. What wonderful service we had. The food was awesome and the waitress Jodi was kind and attentive. Thank you Floyd and Jodi for starting our say off right.

A trail favorite and a local legend. You gotta try this for breakfast just to have the experience. My friends from Johnstown that I fish with insist we start our day here. Not a health food place but lots of hearty food to carry you through a long day on the trail or the stream.
